While visiting Seattle (as we have decided we don't actually want to live in Seattle). We'll probably wind up in Tacoma or Olympia. I will probably wind up going to graduate school (again) in Seattle, so we're sure to be in the city, at which point in time I'm am sure to become intimately acquainted with The Pink Frosted Cookie, a regional specialty.
More things to do
Thanks, Mighty Goods. I'd probably never have thought of getting a guide book for a place where I live, but it might not be a bad idea. I would like to know about locally owned eating and shopping establishments (I'm well versed in the non-locally owned ones, thanks). There are books available for Seattle, or any number of big U.S. cities, for that matter. (How did Rhode Island get its own book?) Hey, Alynda, there is also one for London!

The return of "Things to do in Seattle"
Hadn't seen any activities from Seattle of late (not that I had been looking. No time!), but then this one just popped out at me from a Culinate article I was reading. Soda tasting! Apparently there is a tasting room for Dry Soda. This soda is apparently designed to be something like wine (or at least, to fill the place of it for, say, the pregnant founder), so I suppose it would make sense to go soda tasting.

Even more things to do in Seattle
- Visit the Fremont Troll.
- Go to Bite of Seattle. I've never actually been to a food festival before.
- Watch a roller derby bout (Seattle is the proud home of the Rat City Rollergirls). I went to see one of these while I was visiting relatives in Tucson and it was awesome. Very exciting and involving.

More things to do in Seattle
- Go to farmers' markets. They even have an online directory. Aren't they helpful?
- Garden with native plants. Yeah, I'm a dork, but I'll be the dork with the pretty and low-maintenance yard.

Foodie things to do in Seattle
The lovely author of Chocolate & Zucchini passed though Seattle on her book tour, which leads to new things to add to my list of things to do once I hit Seattle.
- Visit Pike Place Market. This is a classic tourist thing to do, but darned if it doesn't look cool.
- Have lunch at Salumi. Mmmmm.... fancy cured meats.
- Visit World Spice Merchants. I bet it smells so good in there.

Thank you, Food Network
A couple of culinary things I need to try in Seattle (seen here):
- Miniburgers and alpine martini, both found at the bar & lounge at Cascadia restaurant.

Another thing to do in Seattle
Keep chickens! This is more of a "do while living in Seattle" activity rather than a "do while visiting," but it totally counts. They even have classes. Ah, if only I wasn't in a rental I could do this now.

To do list
The A&R household is considering moving to the Seattle area once I finish school (and dragging along anyone we can talk into moving up North with us). In anticipation of this possible move, I'm going to start a list of things I want to try once I get up there. Here are the first couple:
- Seattle Cheese Festival.
- Experience Music Project. My cousin worked there a while ago, and I've always been curious.
